What is the website about?
Refugee Solidarity Network is a US based non-profit organization that protects the rights of people uprooted from their homes and strengthens the communities where they seek safety. RSN values are based on dignity, solidarity, and accountability to move people who are seeking asylum to a safer place while protecting their rights.
What did the organization wish to achieve?
The online presence purpose of RSN is to be able to better reach people who are seeking refugee and to connect with them to help them through the journey and show them the path.
What did Polar Stork provide to Refugee Solidarity Network?
The website was built on having an informative platform to explain what RSN offers, in addition its online presence helps it to be reachable by people seeking RSNs’ services. This was achieved by creating an easy to use interface for users to reach RSN and also to help RSN by donating, this was implemented by creating the below features:
- The user can go around the website and see what RSN does and what it can offer for refugees by exploring the pages created that explains the expertise that RSN have and by checking the partnerships that they deal with for credible delivery and support.
- A journey map was created so users would be able to see the journey for refugees and hosts, to explain for them the steps of a refugee from fleeing from danger to seeking safety and access to restoring rights.
This viewport will facilitate the understanding of the access points that refugees go through and it will explain how to deal with such matters. - A donation page is also created so users can also donate to RSN to support this NGO to keep on delivering their services from protecting human rights and developing companies abroad.
This feature supports one time donation and monthly donations, so a user can choose to donate one time or recurrently - The RSN Website is backed up by a custom easy to use content management system by building a custom theme so the admin can smoothly update and manage the content of the website in an intuitive way from text to images and colors, while optimizing the performance of the site.
- The theme built is SEO friendly powered by google schema and best practices so the website can be found easily by search engines.

RSN has worked with Polar Stork continuously for the last few years on a number of projects, the most noteworthy being our Information Portal for Refugees in Turkey (Info Portal), a joint initiative with our long-standing partner Refugee Rights Turkey. The Info Portal is a one-of-a-kind multilingual resource for refugees that provides accessible, reliable information in various formats. We have been impressed at Polar Stork’s ability to handle this complex project in languages with different direction formats and alphabets. We have benefitted from creative brainstorming around visual layout and display as well as technical features. It has been a real pleasure to work with Polar Stork and we highly recommend them to other NGOs and social enterprises!
